Guests: Nell Scovell & Mark Johnson
Veteran comedy writer Nell Scovell is one of the most successful women in television. She has written for ‘Murphy Brown’, ‘Late Night with David Letterman’, ‘The Simpsons’ and many more. She has written jokes for president Obama, HIllary Clinton, and is now stepping out from behind the scenes with her new memoir ‘Just the Funny Parts’, a juicy and scathingly funny insider look at how pop culture gets made.
Host Christina Jeurling Birro speaks to Scovell about her career, her experiences often being the only woman in the writers’ room, the uncomfortable truths about the industry and her work towards diversity and change.
But first, Mark Johnson of Awards Circuit joins us to give a preview of this years blockbuster movie season. From the recently released ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, to the jam packed Summer season, and onto the Oscar season buzz - we cover it all!
